Someone did me the favour of telling me I have been supporting West Ham for over half its existence.
(It's not strictly true, as I wasn't born supporting them, but it soon will be)

What is shocking to me at times is when you are watching a film from the 80's or 90's which in some ways doesn't seem that long ago whilst watching the film. However when you consider say 30 years prior to that film it was for instance 1955 and it was all black and white and Kirk Douglas, Tony Curtis and Burt Lancaster were all young men then yep I feel old!!!

Albums always get me.
Things I consider relatively recent turn out to be well old e.g. Pink Floyd's Division Bell is now 25 years old.

With you on the albums.
I was playing Ziggy Stardust the other week and i realised that its release was closer to the out break of WW2 than it is to the present day. I was 12 when i bought it,bloody scarey stuff.

In a whatsapp chat with the students taking one of my houses for the coming academic year, i mentioned they needed to get their council tax exemption forms to me. They asked me how to do that, i said well in '98 i just went to the office.
They werent even born in 1998.

Funny that because, unless memory is playing tricks on me, students were not exempt from poll tax eight years earlier and it all kicked off that year.

Johnny Cash came on the radio at work the other day I stated his last few albums were great a youngest at 25 years old said "who's Johnny Cash? never heared of him"
Laid in bed thinking about that remark the same night.

As i type this I'm listening to ' never loved Elvis'.
Used to love reading Mike Hunt's intrviews in the NME/ Melody Maker, clever funny and grumpy cunt at times but always worth reading.

Everyone at work who I booze with is young enough to be my child and I'm only 45.
Huge percent of people around the 30 and younger mark nowadays dont k ow anything or anyone who existed before 20 years ago.
Hardly any of them have heard of Roy Orbison which made me angry at the time!!!
